Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on a two-day visit to Manipur, was stopped by a mob in front of the Bishnupur police station while heading towards Churachandpur on June 29.
The Congress leader who arrived in Manipur today, was heading towards Churachandpur to visit the victims of violence staying in the relief camps. Gandhi’s convoy was stopped by the mob.
The two-day visit, which is set for June 29 and 30, intends to address the crisis’s growing intensity and offer assistance to the areas hit by rising violence.
In the meantime, a new shooting incident has been reported from Manipur’s Kangpokpi district after armed criminals assaulted Tangnaum and L Munlai hamlet on Thursday morning while Rahul was still on his way to the region. When this report was submitted, there were no casualties reported.
