SOFTWARE ENGINEER DIES AFTER JUMPING FROM SIXTH FLOOR WITH INFANT DAUGHTER; BABY SURVIVES

A 37-year-old software engineer, Isha Sahu, allegedly jumped from the sixth floor of her apartment building in Hyderabad’s Miyapur area on June 12, 2026, while carrying her six-month-old daughter in her arms.
Isha died at the scene, while the infant survived with minor injuries after reportedly landing on a protective fence before reaching the ground. Local residents immediately rushed the baby to a nearby hospital, where doctors confirmed that the child was stable and out of danger.
According to police, Isha had been experiencing severe insomnia, anxiety, and symptoms of postpartum depression in the months following childbirth. Investigators are examining whether these mental health challenges may have played a major role in the incident.
Originally from Madhya Pradesh, Isha was living in Hyderabad with her husband and two daughters. Family members were reportedly inside the apartment at the time of the incident.
Police have registered a case and are continuing their investigation.
