Indian objections on it’s incorrect map, Pakistani team avoids the SCO event in Delhi

Pakistan was scheduled to make an official appearance at the think tank conference under the title "SCO Armed Forces Contribution in Military Medical, Healthcare, and Pandemics".

As a result of India’s objections to the use of maps that inaccurately depicted the nation’s borders, particularly for Kashmir, Pakistan withdrew from a conference of military medical experts held under the auspices of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) on Tuesday.

The matter was raised by the Indian side, including the external affairs ministry, as Pakistani officials used similar maps at an earlier SCO meeting, people familiar with the matter said. India is hosting a series of official and ministerial meetings ahead of the SCO Summit that is expected to be held in July.

The Pakistani side was using maps that showed Kashmir as part of the neighbouring country, an issue that has impacted SCO meetings in recent years, the people said.

Pakistan was scheduled to make an official appearance at the think tank conference under the title “SCO Armed Forces Contribution in Military Medical, Healthcare, and Pandemics”. One of the individuals listed above claims that the Pakistani side withdrew after the Indian side objected.

The meeting was held in a New Delhi hotel thanks to the Institute for Defence Studies and Analysis (IDSA). The individuals stated that it is not anticipated that Tuesday’s development will affect upcoming meetings scheduled under the SCO framework.
