8 young children and an adult being severely injured in a knife attack in France, Alpine town

In a knife attack in the French Alpine town of Annecy, eight young children and one adult suffered serious injuries. Even after the man was detained, police stated they were unsure of his intentions.

The incident, reported by the police, took place at Le Pâquier d’Annecy, a park with a children’s play area and breathtaking views of the lake and the mountains on the north side of the lake.

French Interior minister Gerald Darmanin said on Twitter that adding the attacker had been arrested.

Reports says that the attack had happened in a park and that the assailant had been a Syrian asylum seeker.
