Russia on Wednesday accused Ukraine of attacking the Kremlin with drones overnight with an intention to kill President Vladimir Putin, Russian media reported. However, the Ukrainian government has denied having any knowledge about the attack.

This is said to be one of the biggest accusations levelled by Russia against Kyiv ever since it initiated a military invasion into its neighbour’s territory 14 months ago.

Two unmanned Unmanned Area Vehicles (UAVs) were aimed at the presidential residence of Vladimir Putin in the Kremlin by Ukrainian forces, Russian news agency TASS reported. However, the Russian agency did not specify the drone type.

n a staunch warning, the Kremlin also said that Russia reserved the right to retaliate, sparking speculations of another round of military escalation between the two European nations. The Russian parliament has also called for an attack on Zelenskyy’s palace.
